How to use our ready made Jagua Gel

Step into the captivating world of body art and temporary tattoos with our ready-made jagua gel. Whether you're a seasoned tattoo artist or a first-time enthusiast, jagua gel is perfect for creating highly detailed designs. In this article we'll explain how to do just that.

Introduction

Jagua Gel is a natural, blue-black substance made from the fruit juice of the Genipa Americana tree. We process it into a smooth, perfect consistency — thick enough to resist dripping, yet fluid enough to create thin, precise lines.

All our ingredients are thoroughly tested and are EC 1223/2009 compliant, making Jagua Gel a good option to apply directly on the skin. Whether you’re a professional tattoo artist or creating temporary tattoos for fun, our gel allows you to dive straight into the tattooing process with confidence. Unlike our Jagua powder or juice, the ready-made gel requires no mixing, saving you time and effort.

Want to make jagua gel yourself? Follow our recipe how to make jagua gel with jagua powder or jagua juice to give it your own twist.

1. Choosing the Right Gel Format

Our Jagua Gel is available in three sizes:

Tubes (10ml)

  • Perfect for drawing tattoos directly on the skin
  • Comes with a medium applicator tip; small tips can be added for fine details.
  • Lightweight and easy to hold

Pouches (100ml & 1000ml)

  • Ideal for creating many designs at once
  • Must transfer gel into an applicator bottle or cone before use
  • More economical per gram

Pro Tip: Tubes are great for immediate application, while pouches are ideal for workshops or professional use.

2. Storing Your Jagua Gel

To maintain the gel’s quality:

  • Freeze any unused gel in the original pouch or applicator bottle. Squeeze out any excess air before storage.
  • Keep it in a cool, dark place if storing short-term (if you are planning to use within a few days).
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat

3. Applying Jagua Gel for Temporary Tattoos

Step-by-Step Tips:

  • Prepare your skin – Clean and dry the area before application
  • Use the right applicator – Tube, bottle, or cone depending on your design
  • Draw your design – The gel’s consistency makes it easy to create thin lines and fine details
  • Let it develop – Allow the tattoo to develop over 12–48 hours for the best color
  • Aftercare – Avoid touching or washing the area too soon
